Employed in both direct compression and wet granulation methods, croscarmellose sodium is incorporated at different stages to maximize its wicking and swelling properties, thus aiding in the disintegration process. Typically used in concentrations of 2% w/w for direct compression and 3% w/w for wet granulation, it can be used up to 5% w/w to achieve optimal disintegration, ensuring the effective delivery and efficacy of the medication.
