Introduction

Derived from the generic term polysorbates, Tweens are composed of fatty acid esters of polyoxyethylene sorbitan, exhibiting amphipathic properties due to their hydrophilic and lipophilic regions. The numbers following "Tween" indicate the degree of ethoxylation, which is the number of ethylene oxide units added to the sorbitan ester molecule during its synthesis. Characterized by their versatility, Tween surfactants are prized for their emulsifying, solubilizing, stabilizing, and dispersing properties.

O-3	Peregal O-3 is characterized by its solubility in oils and organic solvents. O-3 is primarily used as a W/O (water-in-oil) emulsifier, facilitating the formation of stable emulsions where water droplets are dispersed in oil. This property is particularly useful in the formulation of chemical fiber softeners and silk post-treatment agents.
O-5	Similar to O-3, Peregal O-5 is also soluble in oils and organic solvents. O-5 can be used in the chemical fiber and textile industries.
O-8 & O-9	Peregal O-8 and O-9 are distinguished by their excellent solubility in both water and organic solvents. They exhibit remarkable stability against acids, alkalis, and hard water. O-8 and O-9 are extensively utilized as leveling agents and retarders in the printing and dyeing industry. They also serve as emulsifiers in the glass fiber industry and are integral components in the formulation of spinning oils for synthetic fibers. Additionally, O-8 and O-9 are employed in cosmetics and ointment production, as well as in household and industrial cleaning agents due to their superior wetting, emulsifying, and cleaning capabilities.
O-10	Peregal O-10 is soluble in both water and organic solvents. Its stable emulsifying properties make it a crucial ingredient in various industrial formulations. In the chemical fiber industry, O-10 is used as a component in spinning oils, providing excellent spinnability.
